Some Doctors and Therapists Get Health Canada Permission to use Magic Mushrooms

Magic Mushrooms are Psilocybins that have great hallucinating power. It has been an objectionable substance for the last few years because it strongly influences a person’s mental capacities. However, research has indicated that Psilocybins can help people get rid of depression and other mental health issues if used in a controlled environment.

The hypothesis has opened the doors to more research. Therefore, the authorities have allowed the health professionals in Canada to use Magic Mushrooms to develop effective therapies. As an initial step, authorities allowed the health care specialists to include Psilocybin in the palliative care regime to ease the end-of-life suffering or the patients with fatal end-stage diseases.

A few months after using Psilocybins for palliative care, Canada allowed healthcare workers to use Magic Mushrooms to formulate certain therapies.

Still, the Magic Mushrooms were not available to all the therapists. Health Canada granted 16 exemptions to a specified group of nurses, healthcare workers, therapists, and doctors. The grant allowed these professionals to possess and conduct research on Magic Mushrooms without fearing the consequences that one may face under the country’s Drug Law.

Dr. Sean O’Sullivan and medical director TheraPsil took it as a great breakthrough in the field of medical research. They called the Canada health department’s allowing health care professionals to carry on their training in Magic Mushrooms “a seismic move.”

Since the Magic Mushrooms were allowed for palliative care, many more exemptions have been granted to patients seeking help from Psilocybins to enjoy relief. Health care professionals were exempted from showing them how taking Magic Mushrooms can feel and what to expect when administering it to your patients.

However, exempted health care professionals need to know that they cannot prescribe Psilocybin to anyone else. They can’t include it in other people’s medication regardless of his condition. Health Canada’s exemption means to bring out more about the Magic Mushrooms to analyze if it has a future in medication; it is no way an endorsement or Psilocybin-favoring opinion from the authorities.

Who got the Exemption?

At this point, it is evident that a grant from the authorities is necessary to discover a product. People discover new things daily, and you never know when the unveiling of a product that already existed will change the world map.

Sullivan called it a courageous step to allow the specified therapists and health care professionals to discover the scope of this highly-hallucinating substance, the psychedelic mushroom. O’Sullivan attributed the negative image of Magic Mushrooms to the wars of drugs and compared it with Cannabis, which once faced the same backlash.

The people that got the exemption warrant from Canada Health included psychiatrists linked to the University of Toronto, Health care professionals in British Columbia and Calgary, and a psychiatrist in Hamilton. Dr. O’Sullivan and his wife also received a grant from Canada’s health authorities.

Dr. O’Sullivan is hopeful as he believes that Psychedelics can put the brain back at default mode to reduce the impact of daily-life stresses. He states that a single dose of psychedelics can be heavier than the years of research on therapy and medication.
